Julie is a North Carolina native, raised in Elizabeth City in northeastern N.C. She moved to Raleigh and attended Meredith College, where she graduated in 1994. She and her husband, John Cummins, a local builder, moved to Chatham County in 1997. Heartwood Realty was truly the "door" to their move. They purchased ten acres to build on near the beautiful Haw River and then rented from Heartwood for a year while completing their custom home. In 1999 they had a son, Boone, and in 2001 Elly Blue, their daughter, was born. Julie is quick to tell you of the "Chatham County charm" she fell in love with. The land is green and rolling, the people are warm and welcoming, and she can't think of a better place to raise her young family. She has been an active member in the community and can find the answer to any questions you may have about the area.
